Chō-Base (Kanji: 超ベース) is a 1995 sports TV anime produced by Studio XYZ and aired on TV Asahi.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

The series revolves around the Murakami baseball team, where Kyūji Maruno looks forward to playing in the big leagues.

Murakami Baseball Team[edit | edit source]

  • Keiko Toda as Kyūji Maruno, a young boy who plays in the Murakami School baseball team.
  • Kōzō Shioya as Kadoma Baba, the overweight catcher of the team.
  • Yūji Ueda as Kazunobu Ōmura, a pitcher in the team.
  • Tōru Furuya as Atsuo Tsuruta, a handsome player in the team.
  • Daisuke Namikawa as Akihiko Nozawa, Kyūji's best friend.
  • Keiji Fujiwara as Tadahiko Hoshino, the team coach.

  • Kotono Mitsuishi as Yū Suzuki, Kyūji's love interest introduced in episode 4.
  • Rica Fukami as Asayo Tsuji, the most popular girl in school.
  • Michie Tomizawa as Kunie Yamamoto, a girl known for her skills in martial arts.
  • Aya Hisakawa as Anri Koyanagi, a very smart girl notable for her huge glasses.
  • Emi Shinohara as Yayoi Okuyama, a brute and overweight girl.
    • In episode 18, all of the aforementioned characters start the Murakami Cheer Team.
  • Keiko Han as Ms. Nakatani, Kyūji's teacher.
  • Ryō Horikawa as Chūya Onodera, a guy from another school and Kyūji's main rival.
