Nanako Moriyama (Kanji: 森山 奈々子), maiden name Nanako Aino (Kanji: 愛野 奈々子) is a recurring character in Ponpoko 4-Kyoudai and its reboot.
Appearance[]
Nanako is a beautiful female hamster. She has light teal eyes and a crimson bow on her head. In the 2006 anime, she wore a sailor fuku-like outfit with a plaid blue collar and skirt as well as a chartreuse bowtie.
In the 2020 anime, her bow becomes a flower and she now wears her school uniform.

Nanako is sweet, she can never say no to a task she can do easily.

Maruo Moriyama[]
Maruo has been in love with Nanako from the moment they first laid eyes on each other. Only when she's about to "leave town" she realizes they both have feelings for one another, and they are now boyfriend and girlfriend ever since.
That is, until the first episode of Shin Ponpoko 4-Kyoudai, where she dumps Maruo due to his clingy bordering on obsessive attitude towards her, before getting back together in the third episode.
Nanako had promised that she and Maruo would get married once the two had graduated from college, which finally comes to fruition at the end of the series.
