Madou Monogatari (Kanji: 魔導物語) is an OVA series consisting of 3 episodes, each based off of one of the games in the RPG trilogy of the same name.

Madou Monogatari is one of Studio XYZ's most well-known works, notable for its formidable animation quality and holding acurracy to the original trilogy rather than the Puyo Puyo series the games spun off into.

Cast[edit | edit source]

  • Megumi Hayashibara as Arle Nadja, a young girl with magical powers.
  • Kōichi Yamadera as Satan, the former owner of Carbuncle who dotes on him frequently.
  • Taeko Kawata as Carbuncle, the former pet of Satan in Madou Monogatari 2, but stuck around with Arle ever since. Appears from the second OVA onwards.
  • Kazuhiko Inoue as Schezo Wegey, a dark mage who possesses ancient magic and wields the Dark Sword. Appears in the second OVA.
  • Mami Koyama as Rulue, Arle's rival and a powerful martial artist. Appears in the third OVA.
  • Tomiko Suzuki as Puyo, small gelatinous creatures who pop up periodically in all three OVAs.
