Robotman and the Five Elements (Japanese: 電気軍団ロボ五行) is a 1985 anime movie produced as a joint venture between Shochiku and Saban Entertainment.
In this movie, Roboman is a part of a team of five robots similar to him called the Elementals.
Development[]
Two versions of the movie were produced.
- The original Japanese version, written and storyboarded by Kyōgo Yamashita himself, was released in 1986 exclusively for LaserDisc, making it the studio's first ever OVA.
- The American version adapted by Donn Sonntag, which was released on theaters. This version cut many adult jokes that were in Yamashita's version, such as a scene where Roboman peeks through a bar to find a female alien getting frisky with a severely drunk Bearman.
